History

Teresian College started in 1963, as a first grade Arts, Science and Commerce College for women, affiliated to the Mysore University.  Located in Mysore at 4 KM. on Bannur Road and sprawling over a 25 acre campus in a lush green backdrop, the college offers a serene atmosphere for study and personality development.

The campus, dotted with majestic buildings manicure gardens, well equipped laboratories, spacious playground, library, good hostel facilities, a well-qualified and dedicated faculty, is  a sure destination for students from all over India and abroad.

The college is being managed by St. Teresa’s Education Society, which was founded by Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa (CSST). CSST is a religious congregation dedicated primarily to education.  Today the congregation runs 76 schools and 6 colleges all over India and a few countries abroad.

The management and the staff of the college take a special interest in the all-round development of each student.  Students of all creed and caste are welcome, for the congregation believes in a healthy pluralistic society and great interest is taken in the wholesome growth of a heterogeneous community.
